Last Second Shot Reverses Fortune as Men's Basketball Upsets #15 Grand View

DES MOINES, Iowa – Nick Yocum's basket with three seconds left helped lift the Evangel men's basketball team to an 83-81 win over No. 15 Grand View Saturday evening in conference basketball.

The Crusaders erased an 11 point second half deficit as the two teams traded leads 16 times in the game. The win gives Evangel a sweep of the season series against Grand View who entered the game ranked 15th after being ranked 13th in the earlier meeting on December 10.

Cody Geiger led the Crusaders with 17 points and eight rebounds while Richard Chapman added 16 points. Freshman Autry Acord earned his first double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 boards.

Evangel made nine three-pointers in the win and finished 18-of-24 from the free throw line. The Crusaders also edged the Vikings in the rebound battle while scoring 20 points off turnovers.

Grand View was led by Kerry Green who scored a game-high 23 points and four assists.
