Late Free Throws Seal 68-62 Road Win for Men's Basketball

CANTON, Mo. – The Evangel men's basketball team was able to hold off Culver-Stockton Thursday night, 68-62, for a second straight road victory.

The Crusaders were able to keep their postseason hopes alive with the win as they still need help to reach the No. 10 seed in the Heart Postseason Tournament. Evangel has won two straight road games as two of its final three are also away from Springfield.

Thursday night Evangel got 21 points from Cody Geiger as the Crusaders finished 20-of-22 from the free throw line to seal the win. Nick Yocum also finished in double figures knocking down four three-pointers to finish with 14 points.

Culver-Stockton was led by Alon Hemsani who finished with 16 points and nine rebounds. The Wildcats shot 58 percent from the free-throw line in the loss.
