SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Offense was hard to come by as the Evangel women's basketball team dropped its fourth-straight game by a score of 71-52 Saturday inside the Ashcroft Center.
The game was close early as there were six lead changes within the first 12 minutes of the game. However, the Wildcats would eventually go on a 20-0 run in the second quarter and take a 39-23 lead going into halftime.
Evangel's Alison Jarrell came out of the break on fire, scoring 12-straight points within the first five minutes after halftime. The Crusaders would only score four more points the remainder of the third quarter, ultimately falling too far behind to mount a comeback.
Culver-Stockton's Courteney Sailor had a game-high 18-points. Lacey Thompson also contributed 15 points of her own.
Evangel's Sydnee Garrett led the Crusaders in scoring with 15 points on 7 of 13 shooting.
The Crusaders travel to Fayette, Missouri, on Wednesday as they take on Central Methodist. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
