Second Half Rally Lifts Women’s Soccer Over Mount Mercy, 2-1

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The first second-half comeback in program history saw the Evangel women's soccer team rally past Mount Mercy, 2-1, Saturday in conference action.

The Crusaders fell behind in the first half when Mount Mercy scored in just the seventh minute. However, the first second-half comeback for Evangel started in the 62nd minute.

Renon Kirkpatrick knocked in her first goal of the season off an assist from Shannon Vickery.

Evangel would get the game-winning goal in the 69th minute when Alyson Reinold scored her team-leading sixth goal of the year. Amber Ellis recorded the assist as Reinold's goal put Evangel ahead for good.

Caitlyn Cox and Josie Gregory shared time in the net as Cox finished with six saves.
