SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel baseball team was swept Monday afternoon, 4-0, and 19-3 by Concordia (Neb.) in non-conference action.

Game One
Concordia jumped out to a quick start in both games as they took a 2-0 lead in game one. The Bulldogs added two more runs in the top of the seventh as Evangel was held scoreless.

Bret Hoffman settled down working around a no-out bases loaded jam only allowing two runs. Hoffman tossed five innings and allowed five hits in the loss. Ben Loge tossed the final two innings for Evangel

Jose Vargas, Tanner McVey, Mason Baur and Jordan Yates all recorded base hits for the Crusaders.

Game Two
Evangel stumbled in game two falling 19-3 as Concordia opened the first inning with 11 runs.

Evangel would add two runs in the bottom of the second; however, the Bulldogs scored six more runs in the third and added a run each in the fourth and fifth innings.

Rafael Rodriguez finished 3-for-3 with two RBIs to lead the Evangel offense as Dylan Bradshaw added two hits and a run scored.

Up Next
Evangel continues home action Friday and Saturday in a three-game series against Jamestown. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
