SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel men's basketball continues its tough stretch of ranked opponents as they host 12th-ranked Central Methodist on Saturday.


► Evangel returns to the Ashcroft Center Saturday to host No. 12 Central Methodist. The Eagles have won six straight while the Crusaders have dropped their last four games. Last year the two schools split the season series with Evangel winning the regular season finale in Fayette, Mo.
Justin Washington (Springfield, Mo.) leads Evangel in scoring and rebounding at 15.6 ppg and 8.9 boards per game. The freshman ranks 17th nationally in rebounding and third in the Heart.
Luke Call (Mt. Vernon, Mo.) scored 19 points in Wednesday's loss at Avila. Call knocked down five three-pointers (all in the first half) as his season-high is seven three-pointers made.
► Evangel plays at home three times during the month of January, coming home to host Central Methodist on Saturday. The Crusaders also host Benedictine on Jan. 17 and MidAmerica Nazarene on the final day of the month, Jan. 31.


Evangel heads back to the Kansas City metro Wednesday evening for a matchup with MidAmerica Nazarene. Tipoff from Olathe, Kansas, is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
