FAYETTE, Mo. – The Evangel men's basketball team fell in Heart South Division action, 87-71, at No.7 Central Methodist on Wednesday night.

The Crusaders trailed 42-28 at halftime after shooting just 37 percent from the field. Evangel improved in the second half to shoot 58 percent, however, Central Methodist outrebounded the Crusaders 41-29.

Justin Washington led Evangel with 22 points and six rebounds as Braden Adams added 19 points.

Evangel shot just 7-of-9 from the free throw line, as Central Methodist was 15-of-22 at the stripe.

Terrance Bush led the Eagles with 20 points coming off the bench. Bush also pulled down six rebounds and added four assists helping CMU outscore Evangel 19-7 in second-chance points.

The Crusaders return home Saturday to host Mount Mercy for Senior Day. Tipoff against the Mustangs is scheduled for 2 p.m.
