SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Evangel men's golf team was able to hold onto a third-place finish Tuesday as it hosted its Fall Invitational at Rivercut Golf Course.
Logan Smith led the Crusaders with a sixth-place finish after shooting rounds of 74-78 to finish +8 for the tournament and post a 152. Smith's score was seven shots behind the tournament champion Jacob Webb of Williams Baptist who posted a 145.
A trio of Crusaders earned top 20 finishes as Kelby Day finished 13th, Jathan White was 15th, and Jake Brown posted a 17th place finish. Day was 11 shots back from the leader as he finished with a 156 after a second-round 76 helped move him up the leader board. White was one shot back of Day at 157 after a first-round 77 and 80 on day two.
Bethany College won the team title and Williams Baptist finished second ahead of Evangel. A two-way tie for fourth place was Kansas City Kansas Community College and Oklahoma Science and Arts, with College of the Ozarks round out in sixth place.

Evangel takes a week off before heading to Lake Ozark for the Heart Conference Preview at The Club at Porto Cima Monday, Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.
