Evangel Men’s Soccer Unable to Rally in 5-2 Loss to Culver-Stockton

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel men's soccer team was fell 5-2 to Culver-Stockton Saturday afternoon in Heart Conference action.

Culver-Stockton scored two goals in the first half to take a 2-0 lead at the break.

Despite an early goal in the first minute of the second-half, Evangel answered with a goal from Kyler Moore in the 53rd minute. It was the senior's second goal of the season.

The Wildcats would answer in the 79th minute to go back up 4-1, but the Crusaders refused to go away when John De La Torre scored his second goal of the year in the 82nd minute. However, it would be too little too late as CSC added a fifth goal in the final minutes to extend its lead back to 5-2.

Evangel heads back on the road Tuesday to conference foe Missouri Valley. Action is scheduled to start at 8 p.m.
