Evangel Men’s Soccer Steals First Heart Win at Clarke

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Evangel men's soccer team got a pair of second-half goals to earn a 3-1 win at Clarke Saturday night in Heart Conference play.

Christian Clardy scored the game-winning goal in the 66th minute off a pass from Guillherme Candatten to give Evangel a 2-1 lead. 

Nick Wager helped tie the game and then put the game out of reach with a second goal in the 80th minute for the Crusaders. Wagner scored his first goal in the 56th minute on an assist from Ricardo Aquino to knot the score at 1-1.

Evangel outshot Clarke 17-11 including 11-2 in the second half of the match.

Josiah Dinwidde and Anthony Morales split time in goal for Evangel as Dinwiddie recorded four saves.

The win was the first conference win for the Crusaders to improve to 1-8 on the season in Heart action.
