ATCHISON, Kan. – The Evangel softball team split a frigid double-header Saturday at Benedictine with a 7-4 win in game one before the Ravens rallied for a 2-1 win in game two.

Game One
The Evangel offense helped the Crusaders to a 7-4 win in game one. Evangel pounded out 18 hits and took advantage of three Benedictine errors in the sixth inning for the victory.

Benedictine took an early 2-0 lead in the second inning but Evangel jumped out in front in the fourth with three runs. The Crusaders had scored a run in the third on an RBI single from Hannah Trabucco, who finished 2-for-3.

Taylor Good led Evangel going 4-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI while Allison Davis' 2-RBI double in the sixth inning put the Crusaders up 7-4. Alex Jackson, Michelle Sheppard, Arlena Armstrong, and Ashlie Marshall all recorded multiple hits for Evangel in the win.

Bridget Rippe earned the win going four innings and scattering eight hits while walking none. She struck out four before Taylor Kister pitched the final three innings and added four strikeouts of her own.

Game Two
The Crusaders again out-hit Benedictine 10-5 in the second game but left 11 runners on base as Abby Emmitt earned a tough loss in the circle.

Emmitt went 6.1 innings and allowed just one hit over the first five innings. However, two hits in the bottom of the sixth and a single followed by a walk set up the winning run for the Ravens. Emmitt also struck out six and walked three.

Kami Holt and Ashlie Marshall each finished with a team-high three hits. Lauren Chambers earned the lone RBI for Evangel in the third inning with an RBI single to score Marshall giving Evangel a 1-0 lead until Benedictine tied the game in the sixth.
