Evangel Women’s Basketball Rally Comes up Short at No. 10 Benedictine

ATCHISON, Kan. – The Evangel women's basketball team fell on the road, 60-53, Saturday afternoon at No. 10 Benedictine in Heart of America Athletic Conference action.

Benedictine led from start to finish as Evangel finished just 2-of-15 from behind the three-point line in the loss. Benedictine also scored 18 points off turnovers as the Crusaders scored just nine.

Sydnee Garrett was again just shy of a double-double finishing with a game-high 24 points and nine rebounds. Kylee Moore was the only other Crusader in double figures finishing with 10 points and four assists.

The Ravens were led by Kristen Murphy and Jordan Closter as they each scored 12 points.

Evangel returns home Wednesday to host Avila in a Heart South Division matchup. The Crusaders also welcome student and parents from Weller Elementary to Wednesday night's game. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
