SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel upset the No.11 Central Methodist Eagles on Tuesday night, 81-77, for their first conference win of the season.

The Crusaders controlled most of the game and was able to keep the Eagles at bay offensively. The Eagles outscored the Crusaders 25-14 in the fourth quarter, but the Crusaders were able to get timely buckets to put to bed any real threat of a run by the Eagles.

The Crusaders shot 45% from the field

Lexie Vaught had her first double-double of the season in the win with 20 points scored and 13 rebounds.

Sydnee Garrett led all scorers with 22 points, and Kylee Moore was also in double figures with 16.

St. George's is providing donuts for the team for another sweet win over a nationally ranked opponent.

What's Next

Evangel takes a short break for Thanksgiving and returns next Monday on the road in Baldwin City, Kan. to take on Baker. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
