SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A balanced scoring attack helped the Evangel women's basketball team finish an 88-57 win over Mount Mercy Saturday afternoon in Heart of America action.

The Crusaders led 39-26 at halftime after knocking down seven first-half three-pointers.

Evangel dominated the boards as well out-rebounding Mount Mercy 51-31 and finishing with a 12-6 advantage in second-chance points. The gap widened on the scoreboard when the Crusaders opened the fourth quarter on a 17-2 run before finishing at 51 percent from the field.

Lexie Vaught recorded her third straight double-double and fifth of the season after a 13 point, 10 rebound effort.

Mackenzie Farmer and Kylee Moore led the Crusaders in scoring with 15 points each as Farmer knocked down five three-pointers. Moore added four assists and two steals as Brianna Vogts also finished in double figures with 13 points and seven boards.

 Audrey Mulumba led Mount Mercy with 19 points and eight rebounds.

Evangel heads into Christmas break on a three-game win streak and returns to the court Jan. 3 at Culver-Stockton.
