SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – (RV) Evangel dropped a close game against Benedictine on Monday night, 77-74.

After a slow start in the first quarter, the Crusaders were able to close the gap on the Ravens, but were never able to put any distance between the two teams. In the second half, the game was back-and-forth, with the Ravens finally able to gain a lead late in the fourth quarter that they wouldn't surrender.

The Crusaders out-rebounded the Ravens 42-39, and also forced 23 turnovers from the Ravens.

Lexie Vaught and Sydnee Garrett both led all scorers with 18 points each. Mackenzie Farmer was also in double figures for the Crusaders with 14.

Vaught also had 6 steals and 6 assists on the night.

What's Next

Evangel will head back on the road on Thursday, Jan. 10 to take on Missouri Valley in Marshall, Mo. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
