SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Head women's basketball coach Megan Leuzinger released a 29-game schedule for the Evangel Crusaders in the 2019-20 season.
The 2019-20 slate includes 14 home dates and a pair of matchups against NAIA top-25 finishers from the previous season. Evangel finished the 2018-19 season with a 19-11 record, holding a 14-10 mark in league play.
Evangel kicks off its schedule with a pair of road contests at Mid-American Christian (Nov. 1) and College of the Ozarks (Nov. 5) before returning to Springfield for its home opener against John Brown (Nov. 12).
The Crusaders embark on a quick trip to Cedar Falls, Iowa to face Mt. Mercy (Nov. 16) in their Heart of America conference opener before promptly returning to host two home games against Graceland (Nov. 20) and Peru St. (Nov. 23).
Closing out November, Evangel makes a stop in Fayette, Mo. to face Central Methodist on Nov. 26.
December features two home contests for the Crusaders including Baker (Dec. 2) and College of the Ozarks (Dec. 12). Evangel concludes 2019 with a road trip to St. Louis for a non-conference battle against Missouri Baptist on Dec. 30.
Evangel begins the new year with a two-game Heart of America homestand against Grand View (Jan. 4) and Benedictine (Jan. 8). The following week, the Crusaders depart for road matches at Clarke (Jan. 11) and MidAmerica Nazarene (Jan. 15).
An additional two home dates against Missouri Valley (Jan. 18) and Mt. Mercy (Jan. 25) highlight the remainder of January.
February provides a heavy dose of conference play, starting with home tilts featuring William Penn (Feb. 1) and Central Methodist (Feb. 5). Up next, the Crusaders trek to Nebraska to square off against Peru St. (Feb. 8) before paying a visit to Benedictine. (Feb. 12) on their return trip.
Culver-Stockton and MidAmerica Nazarene visit Evangel on February 15 and 19, respectively, in crucial conference showdowns followed immediately by another two-game road stretch at Grand View (Feb. 22) and Missouri Valley (Feb. 26).
Evangel honors its seniors in its conference and regular-season finale against Clarke on Feb. 29.
