LAKELAND, Fla. – The Evangel women's soccer team fell in its first road test of the season, 6-0, at No. 20 Southeastern University in non-conference action.
The Crusader offense was held at bay Saturday managing just four shots and one shot on goal.
The Fire scored three times in each half with the first two goals coming barely a minute apart in the 27th and 28th minute of the game. Southeastern struck quickly again in the second half with a goal in the 46th minute to take a 4-0 lead.
Evangel goalkeepers saw Caitlyn Cox in goal for 32 minutes as she finished with two saves and allowed one goal. Josie Gregory finished with 11 saves on 16 shots on goal after 57 minutes in the net for the Crusaders.
Evangel continues action Monday in Florida against Trinity Baptist. The action is slated to start at 10 a.m. (EST).
