SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A blustery afternoon setback the Evangel women's soccer team in a 5-0 decision to No. 18 Benedictine in conference action on Tuesday afternoon.

The Crusaders fell behind early playing into the 40 MPH winds Tuesday as the Ravens got on the board early in the 8th minute. Evangel would strengthen its defense before the Ravens got on the scoreboard again in the 20th minute and pushed its lead to 3-0 just before halftime in the 39th minute.

Heading into the win gave Evangel a slight advantage; however, the Crusaders were unable to capitalize against the stout Benedictine club.

The Ravens scored two more times in the 68th minute and the 71st minute to add insurance goals in the second half.

Evangel will head to Iowa to close out the regular season Saturday at Grand View. First touch in Des Moines, Iowa, is scheduled for 5 p.m.
