Evangel Women’s Soccer Drops Road Game to Harris-Stowe

ST LOUIS, Mo. – The Crusaders drop a heartbreaker on the road thanks to a second half rally from the Hornets.

Evangel took an early lead thanks to Sedona Townsend who buried a pass from Alyson Reinold in the 5th minute. Harris-Stowe would equalize in the 25th minute thanks to a goal from Deja Lundberg. Alyson Reinold would quickly restore the lead to Evangel in 26th minute and then tack on another before the end of the first half.

Harris-Stowe rallied in the second half to tie the game. Lyla Rudloff scored off a corner in the 52nd minute and then Torrie Helms scored off a goalie deflection in the 83rd. Regular time ended tied 3-3 and the game went to overtime where Johanna Wallstab scored in the 95th minute for the Hornets to give them the win.

Reinold led the way for the Crusaders with two goals, four shots, and one assist.

Charlesy Seidel had six saves on fourteen shots.

The Crusaders will take on LSU Alexandria at 2 p.m. on Saturday Sept. 8 at Coryell Field.
