SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel volleyball team finished a 3-0 sweep of Avila Tuesday on Pink Out Night at the Ashcroft Center.

The Crusaders have won back-to-back games as they head to Columbia College Friday and Saturday for the final non-conference tournament of the season.

Evangel dominated most of the match taking set on 25-17 and set two 25-21 and hitting .297 and .310 in each set respectively. The Crusaders finished off the Eagles in the third, 25-22, overcoming nine errors in the set.

Bridget Petersen posted season highs with 18 kills and a .406 hitting percentage to lead all players. Heather Gahm and Olivia Johnston also finished with double-figure kills adding 14 by Gahm and 10 from Johnston. Johnston also posted a double-double with 12 digs.

Victoria Fishback finished with 40 assists to help pace the Evangel offense while Jorden Stacey finished with 17 digs.

Defensively Johnston and Gahm also finished with three blocks each in the win.

Evangel finishes non-conference tournament action Friday and Saturday at the Columbia College Classic in Columbia, Mo. Action starts Friday at 11 a.m. against Lindenwood-Belleville for the Crusaders.
