Evangel Volleyball Rallies to Split on Final Day at Bellevue

BELLEVUE, Neb. – The Evangel volleyball teams rallied to earn a split Saturday at the Bellevue Premiere Tournament with a 3-2 win over IU-South Bend after a 3-1 setback to Lawrence Tech.

Game One
Evangel was unable to finish off a rally against Lawrence Tech falling in five sets. Bridget Petersen and Tori Lowry each finished with 13 kills in a defensive battle.

Petersen added four blocks while Heather Gahm added three blocks in the loss. Jorden Stacey finished with 26 digs and Makayla Stephen added 17 digs in the loss.

Victoria Fishback helped pace the offense with 33 assists.

Lawrence Tech had four players finish with double-figure kills led by Jess Lodge with 14.

Game Two
In the finale, Evangel managed to rally back after dropping the first set to win the final three against IU-South Bend.

Petersen was solid again adding 21 kills in the match with a .514 hitting percentage and also adding four blocks. Heather Gahm tallied 12 kills as she returned to form with a .308 hitting percentage.

Fishback helped pace the attack with 46 assists as Stacey tallied 28 digs in the win.
