OLATHE, Kan. – The Evangel volleyball team managed to outlast MidAmerica Nazarene Tuesday night for a 3-1 road victory in conference play.

The Crusaders edged the Pioneers in the first set 25-22 before MNU dominated the second set. However, Evangel flipped the page and controlled the third and fourth sets 25-16 and 25-19 to earn a third consecutive victory.

How It Happened

  • Heather Gahm and Bridget Petersen led the way offensively with 13 kills each.
  • Gahm posted a .286 hitting percentage while Petersen was also solid hit .226 in the match.
  • Defensively, Evangel had four players with double-figure digs, led by 20 from Jorden Stacey.
  • Hailey Noblitt tallied 16 digs, while Eryn Russell added 15 digs.
  • Victoria Fishback earned a double-double with 39 assists and 13 digs.
  • Petersen also added six blocks on the defensive side of the net.

Game Notes

  • The win over MidAmerica Nazarene was the first for Evangel since a 3-2 victory in Olathe, Kansas on Nov. 15, 2014.
  • Evangel won its third straight match and first true road game of the year.
  • The Crusaders moved into a tie for second in the Heart South Division at 5-3.
