ATCHISON, Kan. – The Evangel volleyball team picked up a much-needed victory Tuesday night, 3-0, at Benedictine in Heart South Division action.

The Crusaders swept the Ravens to pull with 1.5 games of second place after a dominating victory. Evangel narrowly missed hitting above the .400 mark for just the third time this season at .396 as the Crusaders made just three total errors combined in the first two sets.

Heather Gahm finished with a match-high 14 kills after hitting .393, while Bridget Petersen blasted 12 kills. Petersen recorded just one error in 20 attempts as she hit .550 in the win.

Emma Lander tallied five blocks on the defensive side of the net as Gahm added three blocks.

Victoria Fishback helped pace the offense with 36 assists.

Evangel continues road action on Friday heading to Culver-Stockton. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
