SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel volleyball team was unable to complete a rally Friday evening falling to No. 21 Central Methodist, 3-0 in Heart of America Athletic Conference action.

The Crusaders honored a pair of seniors, Heather Gahm and Lisabella Lemusu on Friday. However, the duo was unable to finish off a victory in the Heart regular-season finale.

Gahm led the way for Evangel with 11 kills and a block as the Crusader offense was unable to find a rhythm. The senior also continued to move into the all-time top 10 at Evangel for kills with 1,324 to rank eighth most, while also posting a career high in kills this season with 453.

Victoria Fishback added 24 assists, while Lemusu and Stacey finished with double-figure digs on the defensive side of the net with 10 and 11 each.

Fishback has moved into sixth on the single-season list with 1,062 assists and also ranks sixth all-time with 2,320 assists.

Marija Janjusevic led the Eagles with 12 kills and a .290 hitting percentage.

Evangel finishes the regular season next Tuesday at College of the Ozarks in an afternoon match against the Bobcats. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m. as conference play finishes over the weekend and the Crusaders await final seeding for next week's postseason tournament.
