Evangel Volleyball Outlasts Graceland in Heart First Round Victory

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel volleyball team was able to grind out a 3-0 win Wednesday night against Graceland in the first round of the Heart Postseason Tournament.

The Crusaders managed to battle on a night where neither team found a rhythm offensively.

Senior Heather Gahm led the way with a match-high 15 kills and a .364 hitting percentage while adding two blocks. Victoria Fishback added 26 assists to pace the offense while finishing with nine digs.

Jorden Stacey and Emma Lander led the Crusaders on the defensive side of the net with 18 digs for Stacey and six blocks for Lander.

Megan Kneib added 10 kills while also adding nine digs to lead Graceland.

Evangel moves on to the second round of the Heart Postseason Tournament for a matchup at regular season champion and No. 1 seed Grand View. Action is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. in Des Moines, Iowa.
