OTTAWA, Kan. – Evangel defeats No.25 Ottawa (Kan,) in a five-set thriller on Tuesday night in Kansas.

After dropping the first set against the Braves 27-25, the Crusaders rebounded and took the second and third sets, 25-19 and 25-22 respectively. The Braves mounted a comeback to take the fourth set 25-17 and force a decisive fifth set. The Crusaders came out strong in the fifth set to win 15-7 and take the match.

The Crusaders were strong offensively hitting at .195%. Bridget Petersen led the Crusaders on the attack with 20 kills, followed by Tori Lowry with 16, Daisy Eklund with 14, and Regan Ansley with 10. McKenna Miller was an assist machine with 54 assists.

Defensively the Crusaders were paced by Eryn Russell with 41 digs. Lowry, Makayla Stephen, and Sydney Dunavant all contributed with 14 digs.
