Evangel Volleyball Rolls to Fourth Straight in 3-0 win over Culver-Stockton

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel volleyball team wasted little time in the Heart Conference opener Friday night with a 3-0 sweep against Culver-Stockton.

Evangel improved to 11-2 on the season with a three-set win over Culver-Stockton as part of the 2019 Evangel Classic. The Crusaders trailed briefly in the third set but led the majority of the match for their fourth straight win.

Regan Ansley led Evangel with 12 kills while Tori Lowry finished with 10 kills in just her second match of the season after returning from a preseason injury. Lowry added eight digs and five blocks to help Evangel dispatch of Culver-Stockton.

McKenna Miller paced the offense with 33 assists and 12 digs, while Daisy Eklund added nine kills and a .333 hitting percentage. 

Bridget Petersen added six blocks on the defensive side of the net and Eryn Russell finished with 23 digs.

The Crusaders hit .387 as a team in the third set and finished at .286 as a team overall.

What's Next

Evangel closes out action in the 2019 Evangel Classic Saturday with a rematch against College of the Ozarks, one of the two losses on the Crusaders' record. First serve is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
