Crusaders Volleyball Receiving Votes in Latest NAIA Poll

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Coming off a conference victory last night to Missouri Valley, Evangel Volleyball is receiving votes in the latest NAIA poll, 43 votes to be exact.

The Crusaders sit at 14-2 on the season, 2-0 in the conference. Their only losses were to the then #7 Northwestern (IA) and College of the Ozarks, a team that was the NCCAA National Champion Runners Up a year ago. Notable wins include #16 Aquinas (Mich.) at the Bellevue Tournament and on the road over #25 Ottawa (Kan.).

Currently, the team is ranked in the top 25 in several statistical categories. They are ranked #2 in Total Digs (1077), #3 in Total Kills (768) and Total Assists (690), #15 in Total Blocks (102.000), #19 in Kills per Game (13.240) and #25 in Digs per Game (18.570).

There are also several Crusaders ranked in individual categories as well. Eryn Russell ranks #2 in Total Digs (334) and #8 in Digs per Game (6.070). Bridget Petersen ranks #10 in Total Kills (184), #11 in Hitting Percentage (00.343) and #16 in Total Blocks (52). Finally, McKenna Miller ranks #16 in Total Assists (437).

What's Next

Evangel will continue conference play when they welcome Benedictine College to the Ashcroft Center on Tuesday, Sept. 17. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.
