Evangel Volleyball Blanks Baker for Third Straight Win

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. — The Evangel volleyball team won its third straight Friday night with a 3-0 sweep at Baker in Heart Conference play.

The Crusaders improved to 9-7 on the season. The third straight victory was also the third consecutive 3-0 sweep for Evangel who had one of its best offensive performances of the season.

Evangel finished the match hitting .385 as a team, while Daisy Eklund led the way with 13 kills and a .458 hitting percentage. Tori Lowry and Ciera Reyes also finished in double-figure kills with 11 and 10 each respectively, while Lowry added three blocks on the defensive side of the net.

Eryn Russell continued solid defensive play with 22 digs, while Victoria Fishback finished with 24 assists and McKenna Miller added 20 assists.

Evangel wraps up regular-season action Tuesday night at Benedictine at 7 p.m. The top eight teams qualify for the single-elimination Heart Postseason tournament that starts, Saturday, November 9.
